Program Goals The purpose of our program is to provide half-day nursery school and full-day child care to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years
of age that will be socially, emotionally, physically, and educationally beneficial to the children served.
Paddy Cakes firmly believes that each child is a unique individual with different strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, skills and abilities. The center provides a warm, comfortable environment where children are accepted for themselves by their peers and teachers. Each child is recognized as an individual and is given the respect they deserve. Paddy Cakes strives to promote social growth and development by instilling in the children a sense of care, compassion,sensitivity, and respect for others. The children will develop an appreciation of kindness, friendship, cooperation, honesty, loyalty, and trust in their peers and adults alike. We will instill in each child a sense of care and respect for the community in which they live. The center strives to promote healthy emotional development by building self-confidence and self-esteem. The classroom teachers focus on helping the child gain a positive self-image through positive reinforcement and praise. The staff encourages the children in the area of artistic expression and creative thinking which helps the child form a healthy sense of self. Our center seeks to instill intellectual growth and development in each child by providing a wholesome play environment where the children are free to experiment with a wide variety of materials and activities and are encouraged to explore and make discoveries. Curriculum in the areas of language skills, math, science, social studies, music, art, and physical development are part of the classroom experience each day. We help to set the stage for a life long curiousity and desire to learn. The staff will allow the children the opportunity to build self-help skills while assuring the safety of each child. Paddy Cakes supports and encourages parents to take an active role in their child's early education. Parent participation is always encouraged and welcomed by teachers through classroom participation and an open door policy. Teachers communicate openly with parents on a daily basis and through parent conferences each spring and as requested by parents or teachers. Miss Lisa, Director
